Pedestrian Bridge to Enhance Ala Moana & Kakaako Neighborhood
A collaborative effort between the City of Honolulu and Howard Hughes Corporation (HHC) is bringing a new pedestrian bridge to life, further enhancing the convenience and accessibility of Ward Village, HHC’s award-winning master-planned community.
This anticipated bridge will connect Victoria Ward Park to the ocean side of Ala Moana Boulevard, providing residents and visitors with a safe and scenic pathway across the busy thoroughfare. This eliminates the need to navigate crosswalks and traffic, streamlining access to Ala Moana Beach Park, Kewalo Basin Harbor, as well as connecting pedestrians coming from ocean side to the neighborhoods’ vibrant shops and restaurants.

A Boon for Residents and Visitors:
The bridge’s construction signifies the ongoing commitment of both the City and HHC to improve the quality of life and safety of those passing through the Ala Moana / Ward Village neighborhood. Residents will enjoy unprecedented ease of access to world-class beaches, recreational activities, shopping, and dining, plus be treated to a scenic overlook and a unique experience. This elevates the project from a mere bridge to a destination in itself, further enhancing the allure and appeal of Ward Village for potential residents.
The project is slated for completion this summer.
