Local developer Stanford Carr has been chosen by Kamehameha Schools to develop its next condominium tower in Kakaako. Named Kahuina, the upcoming project will be situated on 3.66 acres of land and feature 859 units, 60% of which will be reserved for affordable housing, according to the news release. 35,000 square feet of commercial space is planned to go along with the project.

Construction is scheduled to start in 2023 with a completion date of 2026. Kamehameha Schools and Stanford Carr collaborated on Keauhou Place in 2017 as well as other projects.

For the start of the new year, Sachi Hawaii has donated $5000.00 to the Domestic Violence Action Center’s (DVAC) Hale Fund. The Hale Fund assists domestic violence survivors with housing assistance and placement.

During the pandemic, domestic violence reports and hotline calls rose dramatically and are expected to continue that trend. Sachi Hawaii is proud to participate in offering an escape for those in need, and urges others to give to DVAC’s Hale Fund as domestic violence continues to rise in our communities.
