This annual 41-mile paddling challenge across the grueling Ka’iwi Channel from Molokai to Oahu tests both physical and mental strength and endurance, perfectly reflecting Ayako’s dedication and drive in all that she does. On her days off, Ayako often jumps on her jet ski, venturing out to search for dolphins and whales enjoying the incredible feeling of swimming alongside these playful creatures. Early mornings often see Ayako longboarding the waves in front of her Waikiki home, while afternoons might find her jogging or exploring Kapiolani Park. Winter brings a change of scenery, as Ayako heads to the North Shore of Oahu to tackle the legendary Banzai Pipeline surf spot on her trusty bodyboard.
